Unfortunately, BitGiving will be shutting down its services from the 30th of September, 2018. This includes the platform, all the campaigns and individual/organisation profiles. Our sole goal at BitGiving has always been to help innovate individual fundraising for Not for Profits, organisations and individual projects through crowdfunding and other technology tools. In the last 5 years, we’ve been part of some spectacular stories and have loved being a part of the community that you have built with us at BitGiving. It has been a hard decision to take, but due to circumstances beyond our control, this is the only viable option that we have at this time.

We wanted to give all our users enough time to be able to go through their profiles on BitGiving and download any data that they might need. If you are currently raising funds through us or have done so in the past, you can download all your historical data in one go.

While, we would not be accepting new campaigns, the campaigns running on the platform right now would continue uninterrupted till the 30th of September and you can continue to support the stories on BitGiving. For any other queries that you might have, we have put together a set of FAQs below. However, feel free to reach out to us if you have any other questions, we’re here to make the transition as easy as we can, for all of you.

We’d also like to thank you for trusting us and being a part of our quest to make amazing things happen. All of you - as campaigners, contributors and partners have made our journey incredible and we are really grateful for that. Each campaign has been such a fulfilling experience for us - We have learnt so much, have had the opportunity to make a product that we are extremely proud of and have seen the impossible happen because of communities coming together.

I am currently running a campaign on BitGiving

1. 1. My campaign is already live. What will happen to it?

  • All campaigns will end on 30th September 2018. If your campaign ends after the 30th of September, it would automatically be changed to the 30th as we would not be able to host campaigns post that date. Our Campaigns Team has sent you an email regarding the same to ensure you have a seamless fundraising and transition process.

2. 2. Will I get the funds I have raised till now?

  • All the funds raised by you shall be transferred to you once your campaign has closed - the process remains the same - at the end of the campaign, we would send you a reconciliation report and post approval, we would transfer the funds to you within 2-5 business days.

3. 3. Can I continue raising funds for my campaign?

  • Yes. The last date till which campaigns will remain live on the platform is 30th September 2018. All campaigns can accept contributions till then.

4. 4. I want to close my campaign immediately. Can I do that?

  • Yes, you can close your campaign. Please write to us at support@bitgiving.com sharing your campaign name so we can get back to you on the next steps.

I have run a campaign on BitGiving earlier

1. 1. What will happen to the data from my previous campaign ?

  • All campaigns on the platform can be accessed till 30th September, 2018. Your campaign data will be available for you to download. Please click here to know how you can download all your data.

2. 2. What will happen to my campaign Page?

  • First of all, thank you for being a part of the BitGiving family and choosing to run your campaign with us. All campaigns will remain visible on the platform till 30th September, 2018. You will not have access to the campaigns post that. Your data can be downloaded anytime before this from here .

3 3. I have not received the funds I had raised at your platform yet. How do I get it?

  • In case you have not received any part of the amount you raised, please drop us as email at support@bitgiving.com.

I want to contribute to a campaign and/or have contributed in the past

1. 1. Can I still contribute to a campaign?

  • Yes, You can contribute to any campaign that is live on the platform till 30th September, 2018. All funds collected before the closure date will be reconciled and transferred to the campaigners as per our current process.

2. 2. I had donated to a campaign and I do not have my 80G receipt. Can I get a copy?

  • In the case your contribution is eligible for the 80G receipt, there are two ways you can get a copy:

    1. Automated 80G on behalf of the NGO: If the NGO has authorised BitGiving to issue the 80G receipt on their behalf, you can download them from the box on top.

    2. 80G from NGO: If the NGO has not authorised BitGiving to issue the 80G receipt on their behalf, we would request you to directly contact the NGO for a copy of your receipt.

I have a verified profile and/or a donate page

1. 1. My donate button is powered by BitGiving. What will happen to that?

    • We will be powering your donate button till 30th September, 2018.Post that, we would be happy to recommend you partner organisation who can support you.
    • All the funds raised by you shall be transferred to you post 25th September- the process remains the same - we would send you a reconciliation report and post approval, we would transfer the funds to you within 2-5 business days.
    • Your data will be available for download till 30th September, 2018. You can download all historical data in one go from the link above.
    • In case, you have any further questions - please reach out to us at support@bitgiving.com.

2. 2. What will happen to my verified profile page?

    • We will be powering your verified profile page till 30th September, 2018. In case there is any campaign live for your page - the campaign will end on 30th September 2018. If the closure date for your campaign is after the 30th of September, it would automatically be changed to the 30th as we would not be able to host campaigns post that date.
    • All the funds raised by you or your community shall be transferred to you once your campaign has closed - the process remains the same - at the end of the campaign, we would send you a reconciliation report and post approval, we would transfer the funds to you within 2-5 business days.
    • Your data will be available for download till 30th September, 2018. You can download all historical data in one go from the link above.
